| Research Help (Spoilers) | Rating: Pending | |
Don't read this if you don't want to know the story of the game. There are 7 research subject achievements, and then there's one for filling all research. Research is acquired by taking photos of the enemies. There are seven organic(?) enemies, and then there are the security enemies. Although the security don't have their own achievements, they still count towards the PhD. Here are tips for getting these achievements, if you need them: 1. Although you can (usually) only get a perfect picture score once on a subject, you can continue to take photos of the same subject for another 2-4 pictures (5 was the most I got). 2. If you don't get all the research before the final boss (little sisters are the hardest) you can take your Big Daddy Suit into all the other levels. Not only does it give you an extra 25% damage resistance, none of the splicers, big daddies, or security will attack you. This leaves you free to take photos of all the enemies you need. 3. If you "dealt" with all the little sisters and still haven't gotten the research for them, you can go to the beginning of the "Proving Grounds" level. Go to the very end of the track to the second to last "hidey Hole." bang on it with your wrench, then take pictures of the little girl that comes out. She will lead you for a short ways, and then go back into the final hole. GLITCH: if you do this more than once, the girls start to stack. I don't know how high it goes because I only did it once, but I think they can go into the wall. If you need to, go back to the beginning and repeat. The only bad thing about this is that there is an annoying message that continues to flash "Ride the elevator to face **Final Boss**." This message will flash until you actually ride the elevator. If you follow tip #3, then you will have an annoying message saying "Take the **** Harvesting Tool" flash. This message will flash until you beat the boss. Hopefully this will help you to not have to replay the game just for this achievement. Did this work for you? or 3 of 3 people have said this worked for them. |

| Secret Codes | Rating: Pending | |
This procedure involves editing a game file; create a backup copy of the file before proceeding. Use a text editor to edit the "defuser.ini" file in the game directory. Set a key binding to the following codes (for example, "F10=fly"). Then, press the corresponding key during game play to activate the corresponding cheat function. Note: Any active codes are disabled when a new area loads or intermission sequence plays. (mode on the left, code to type in on the right)

| Big Daddy Battle | Rating: Pending | |
In order to do this, you need the Hypnotize Big Daddy Plasmid and the Natural Camouflage Tonic. All you have to do is use the Hypnotize Big Daddy Plasmid on a Big Daddy so that he thinks you're a Little Sister and protects you. Now here's the fun part - simply find and attack another Big Daddy and your Big Daddy will attack it to protect you. Did this work for you? or 2 of 2 people have said this worked for them. |

| Leave No Barnacle Unturned | Rating: Pending | |

Rapture is littered with countless hidden treasures. It's vital to keep your eyes peeled. Search high and low for hidden cash, ammo and Tonics. You should also make certain to listen to as many Diaries as you can find. Not only do they contain fascinating glimpses into the citizens and history of Rapture, but they often contain valuable information like keycodes and the location of stashed loot. | U-Invent | Rating: Pending
The most potent ammo in the game can only be invented, including Trap Bolts, Electric Gel, and Explosive buck. My personal favorite is the Electric Gel, which not only deals massive damage, but electrocutes the target as well, locking them in place to be easily dispatched. The U-Invent can also get you additional autohack devices so you can quickly bypass the really difficult hacks on safes which always have lots of cash and ammo in them. Don't underestimate the less direct plasmids. Did this work for you? or

| Vortex Trap | Rating: Pending | |
This puppy has a lot more going for it than you might initially think. Remember that every impact the enemy has while flying through the air deals damage to him and the faster they are moving the more damage is dealt. With version 1 it is most effective in areas with low ceilings so that they take damage going up and coming down. Once you get version 2 be prepared to really nail people. Version 2 is powerful all the time, but in areas with high ceilings the falling damage is usually massive. If the impacts don't kill the guy, you should have time to shoot them while they are standing back up to finish them off. Remember that Big Daddies are too heavy to be affected, so use it on splicers only. Did this work for you? or 1 of 1 people have said this worked for them. |

| Target Dummy | Rating: Pending | |
Believe it or not this is one of the most versatile and effective plasmids in the game. Drop one in front of a big daddy with a splicer nearby and you can usually get them fighting each other. While not as effective in this manner as Enrage! it can help in a pinch and costs less EVE than Enrage! Target Dummy can also be used as a scouting tool. Put one into a room you suspect might have enemies and see if the fireworks start. Not only splicers are fooled, security cameras will sound alarms against the dummy allowing you to pass with ease. Finally, it is also a last ditch "get out of jail free" card. When in trouble, drop the dummy and run like hell. This usually buys you enough time to heal up and lose any would-be followers who spend their time fighting the dummy. Did this work for you? or

| Run Away! | Rating: Pending | |
The splicers and Big Daddies see and hear just like you do. When in trouble, it is possible to run away from an enemy and they will lose track of you if you are clever. Just be sure you are running into an area that you have already been so you are not surprised by more splicers. Enemies that have lost you will search the area for you for a short time. Be careful when you hear them looking for you because they're on alert and their senses are heightened. If you remain hidden long enough they will eventually lose interest and return to their normal routines. Did this work for you? or
